Personalizing Your Jewelry Box
Jewelry boxes are considered an heirloom item, something to be cherished now and then passed down to the next generation. Many women have fond memories of watching their mother choose the perfect jewelry for the day as they carefully explored the treasures inside her jewelry box. Personalizing a jewelry box with the owners initials, name, monogram or a special message adds to the significance and nostalgia of the jewelry box, especially once it has been passed down to the next generation. Many times, this is also a memory that can be recreated by adding personalization, making the jewelry box just like mom's or grandma's was, intricately adorned with their name or initials. 

Adding personalized engraving is a wonderful way to commemorate a special occasion, especially 5 year anniversaries, where the traditional gift is one of wood. It can however, be a little difficult in deciding what to engrave. Here are some helpful tips, as well as examples from previous customers. 

Initials
Initials will be engraved just as they would be written on a document: first, middle, last with the letters all the same size. This is not as popular as a monogram but serves well when you are engraving for someone who has more or less than 3 initials in their name.

Monogram
A monogram is the most traditional way of personalizing a special item. Hope chests, pillow cases, and now even wedding cakes are often adorned with monograms. A monogram places the first name initial first, the last name initial centered and finally the middle name initial. The last name initial is enlarged to accentuate the significance of the last name. 

Name or Message
Many people choose to engrave a full name or a message (or both). This is especially proper when there is a title (such as Dr.) before or after the name or to commemorate a change in title (ex: Esq.) You may also want to use this option to commemorate an occasion such as "Merry Christmas 2015"

Combination with a message
We offer you the option of adding a message to any of the three options of Initials, Monogram or Name. This is our most popular option for our customers as it allows you to personalize the jewelry box and commemorate the occasion. Initials, Monograms and Names are engraved on the top line with the message engraved below.
